Booking Policy

We are a reservation-driven restaurant and accepting reservations through Resy. Please note we do not accept walk-in guests for the Chef’s counter and we do not accept reservations by phone at the moment.

For private dinner or corporate events, contact us below.

Allergies and Dietary Restrictions

Please kindly Inform us if you or your guest have any allergy and dietary restrictions at the time of your reservation. Please note that we are unable to accommodate any seafood or shellfish allergies, gluten or celiac allergies, vegan or vegetarian.

Cancellation Policy

Reservations for the Chef’s Counter may be cancelled, rescheduled or transferred up to 72 hours in advance of your reservation date for parties of 1-4, and 7 days for parties of 5 and above. Cancellations, decrease in number of guests, or no-shows within 72 hours for parties of 1-4 and 7 days for parties of 5 and above will be charged $275 per person. The existing reservation can no longer be rescheduled but may still be *transferred to an alternative party.

Reservation for the Main Counter may be cancelled, reschedule or transferred up to 24 hours in advance of your reservation date. Cancellations, decrease in number of guests, or no-shows within 24 hours will be charged $40 per person.

*Please note when transferring a reservation, allergies and/or special modifications can no longer be accommodated due to extensive preparations and import of international specialty, seasonal ingredients.

Payment

We accept all major Credit Cards (AMEX, Visa, Mastercard).Please note, we are only able to accept cash payments for the exact amount.

Please note that an automatic 18 percent gratuity will be added to your final bill for party of 4 or less and 20 percent for party of 5 or more.

Parking / Transportation

Sushi Yugen is located at ground level within the Adelaide Place at 150 York Street. There is underground parking within Adelaide Place, which can be accessed from York Street, Adelaide Street or Richmond Street (Hilton Hotel entrance).

If traveling by public transportation, Sushi Yugen is conveniently located to multiple TTC subway stations:

  • From St. Andrew subway station: exit to University Avenue and walk one block north to Adelaide Street W., then one block east on Adelaide Street W. to 150 York Street.
  • From Osgoode subway station: exit to University Avenue and walk two blocks south to Adelaide Street W., then one block east on Adelaide Street W. to 150 York Street.
  • From Union Station (GO Transit, VIA Rail, or TTC subway): Union Station is approximately 5 to10 minutes away from Sushi Yugen by foot with direct underground access via the PATH. Follow signs to Adelaide Place (150 York Street) posted within the Royal Bank Building, Toronto Dominion Centre and First Canadian Place.

Due to ongoing traffic at street level within the Financial District, please plan your trip to Sushi Yugen accordingly. Due to the nature of our cuisine and dining experience, we cannot guarantee that the full course will be served if guests arrive more than 10 minutes late.

Dress Code and Fragrance Policy
To honour the upscale nature of the Sushi Yugen Chef’s counter experience, we ask that guests dine in business casual to formal attire. Please avoid wearing perfumes or applying fragrant lotions, to refrain from hindering your upcoming dining experience.
Children
Sushi Yugen is optimized for adult diners and is limited in offering for younger children at the Chef’s counter. However, we welcome patrons of all ages to our establishment. Reservation with children (age 8 and under), please reserve a full seating time. While we do allow younger children in our Chef’s counter, we do not offer kid menu options and the full menu charge will apply per guest. We do not have any high chairs or booster chairs. Please let us know in advance if there will be children within your party.
Cake Service Fee
We can assist with the presentation and service of the cake at the end of the experience at the restaurant- 2% additional gratuity will be applied to the final bill. Please let us know in advance if you need the cake service.
Be On Time

Please make every effort to arrive on time for your reservation. If you anticipate a delay, kindly inform us in advance. Please note that we may not be able to serve the full course if you are more than 20 minutes late at the Chef’s Counter and more than 10 minutes late at the Main Counter. In such cases, you will still be charged the full course amount, including taxes.

Cell Phone
We ask that mobile devices be placed on silent mode, to allow all guests the opportunity to enjoy a truly immersive evening. Phone calls can be answered at the inside patio.
